Welcome to Ms. Ryan's P.E./Health Page
Philosophy
I believe that one of the most important things we can learn is how to properly take care of our physical, mental and emotional health. My goal is to provide my students with a toolbox of skills that will allow them to make healthy choices throughout their life. I strive to keep students active so that they can get the most benefit from class time. I also believe that sports provide a wonderful opportunity to build skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership.
Expectations
I expect that students will come to class ready and prepared to give their best effort. In order to use class time effectively, it is important that students follow the classroom procedures. I strive to create a safe learning environment in which all students feel involved and comfortable to take risks and grow as a person. Below I’ve listed five basic classroom rules.
Grading Procedures
In Physical Education, students will be able to earn three points per day.
1 pt = Student is dressed and ready for class.
1 pt = Student shows good effort in class.
1 pt = Students treats everyone with respect and shows good behavior.
In Health class, students will be graded through assignments, projects and tests. Most work in Health class will take place during class time. Please see below to learn more about the Health schedule and curriculum.
