There is a lot excitement going on in science classes as we finish up the year. As our environmental unit ends, our genetics unit is getting started. Our final Children’s Book project was a huge success. Students worked well together and turned in many creative, original, and educational stories. We will be donating our books to Edison when the honors science class visits on April 24to judge the science fair. Third quarter grades have been updated, and you can check Home Logic for final quarter grades at this time.
This Thursday, April 5, at Spring Fine Arts Night/Open House, honors science will be presenting their science fair projects. I hope that everyone gets a chance to come in and see the hard work the students put into these projects. The honors environmental project will be presented on April 17 at the School Board Meeting. Students worked diligently to research the history of basic human needs. They were able to see the importance of the advances that we have made over the years but also see some of the negative effects that this has caused. As a part of this project, students created designs to try to lessen our carbon footprint and demonstrated their knowledge through the construction of the design using recycled materials. Representatives from the class will get a chance to show off their designs and explain their ideas for pollution solutions. We would love to see you at the Board Meeting to hear all about these unique projects.
