Parents, Guardians, and Students:

Welcome to the 2012-13 school year. We are very excited about welcoming your children back to Lincoln for another successful school year.  As you may be aware, there have been some big changes at Lincoln this school year. From new staff members, to a new grading scale, to a new handbook, to advisory, to new textbooks, these changes are intended to make your child's experience at Lincoln the best it can be. Below are some of changes outlined, as well as some reminders regarding attendance and dress code.

  1. HandbookThe student handbook for Lincoln has been revamped and includes some minor and some major changes. One of the biggest will be to our grading system and recognition. Please take some time to review the handbook with your child. It can be found within their student assignment notebook or online posted to our homepage.

The new Honor Roll system is as follows:

Students are recognized each quarter for outstanding academic achievement based on their Grade Point Average (GPA), calculated by assigning the following numeric values to grades: A - 4.0; B - 3.0; C - 2.0; D - 1.0; F - 0. Students will be recognized each quarter for qualifications of one of the two honor rolls:

3.75 - 4.0              Gold List                                              3.5 - 3.74              Blue List

Students who achieve Honor Roll will be recognized at the end of the year. Students must achieve “Gold List” status in each quarter to be recognized for “Gold List” for the entire year.  Students achieving a combination of “Gold List” and “Blue List” status throughout the year will be recognized for achieving “Honor Roll” for the entire year.  Students achieving “Honor Roll” status in each quarter will be recognized for achieving “Honor Roll” for the entire year.  Students failing to achieve either “Blue List” or “Gold List” in one or more quarters will not be honored at the end of the year. Administration will review the records of new students to determine whether or not they qualify for this recognition.

  1. Attendance – Every day that a student is not in school is a day where they miss content and experiences which will be vital to their success at Lincoln.
